It blocked it, It was detected trying to come onto your machine but was caught and blocked.
Edit- Believe both, Kaspersky used the term infected when it detected it although it did not allow it download or to run on your computer.
I do not use Kaspersky but it is consistently among the very best and was the product of the year from a top comparison of anti virus. You are OK!!http://www.av-comparatives.org/
You might consider using free Malwarebytes. It is not an anti virus but is commonly used as an extra level of security. Malwarebytes focuses on a smaller percentage of threats which are the ones that are often missed by an anti virus. The free version does not run in the background to keep you protected so does not interfere with Kaspersky. But after an event such as you just have just described a user would then open Malwarebytes and run a scan with it.
You might discuss it with your dad if you want. We use a top anti virus and Malwarebytes recently discovered several threats on my wife’s computer. That’s very unusual for us. The threats were not considered very dangerous and not an actual virus but a PUP or potentially unwanted program Your anti virus may not have stopped these because you clicked to use something that is not considered a virus.
But it has characteristics that you did not know about such as perhaps controlling your browser searches to lead you to their product.
There exists a gray area that the computer user has a freedom to make some choices. The anti virus will block your highest risks without taking away all of your choices. When we make a bad choice Malwarebytes will help identify those. Malwarebytes also finds higher level threats that might get past your anti virus. You should only consider the free version with your existing anti virus.
If Kaspersky is doing its job, it only detected the virus threat, and blocked if from getting on your computer. If you’re concerned, run a full virus scan on your C: drive; nothing should turn up.
You shouldn’t have an infection. Kaspersky is one of the best on the market. Run a full scan to be sure if you want to. Then run your anti-spyware software to see if you have anything like trojans or spyware hanging around.
