Most viruses will try to stay active in your computer memory by trying to add themselves to the programs that open when the computer starts.

Ok, start off with a bootable AV CD/DVD made on another computer. There are several available that should do a good job.
If that doesn’t work, have a backup made of your HDD for your essential files, have it done on another system or with a bootable Linux Disc or something.
Then format your HDD. Then reinstall Windows.

If it’s coming to a end, you can get Stopzilla.com to fix it. They have a free cleaning thing. It lasts for a month so you could have time to find something else.
