Is My Poem Good For My Class Poetry Slam?

I’m having a poetry slam in class on Friday and just wanted to know what you think of my poem.
At night I toss and turn
While the world outside burns
The never ending fire is fueled by the hatred, and torment and bloodshed.
Will you be like Nero and watch it all burn down?
No, I don’t want to seem like a zero
I won’t rest, wait, or give up
My patience is wearing thin but I know that in the end we will prevail
It might be as hard as finding the holy grail
But I will not give up until I speak for the ones that can’t
Walk for the ones that only dream of doing so
I will be their voice and legs
I’ll fight until not even one person has to get on their knees and beg
I’ll run into battle with my eyes closed and my heart beating like that of a hummingbird
I won’t look back, won’t hesitate to run into the fire
I’ll do it with passion and desire
The burns and the scars are all worth it
Because I know that some people of the Earth have suffered far worse
They don’t complain, don’t seek help
This is for them
For everyone who has ever felt worthless, helpless, or that no one cares
This is for the kids acting up on the streets
Just looking for attention
But all they get is detention
For all the people everyone looks down on
Some of those that laugh at you say that they don’t,
“this doesn’t exist in my town”
They think
Oh, they’re wrong so very wrong
They’re subconscious hatred is just the spark that’s need to start a wild fire
That doesn’t end
It keeps going
Burns everything in sight
And there’s always a Nero smiling at the destruction and anguish of others
Giggling at their heartache as their families get consumed in the flames
Will you be Nero?
Or will you stand up and speak for those who can’t?
Cry for those who have no more tears
Cheer them on when they need it most
Just your tears of sympathy
Can be the water that’s needed to extinguish the flames
Of torture and hate
