I have an acer laptop (5750) with I5 Processor and 4 GB of ram but now it is showing as 2.66 GB (Usable), and all the CPU gadgets as well.
Could someone help me to figure it out.
Thanks

That happens when you only have a 32-bit operating system. Press the Windows logo key and the Pause key or right click on Computer. See what you got.
If you only have a 32-bit OS and you have 4GB of RAM, you MUST change to 64-bit to see all of the 4GB. You will need to back up your data and product keys before doing so. You will also need to reinstall your applications after you change your OS version. It cannot be done as an upgrade. A clean install (wiping out the existing OS) is required.
It is also possible that some portion of your RAM is being shared to your graphics processor. Check the BIOS and find out how much is being shared, but I don’t think it’s sharing as much as 1.3-1.4GB.
the rest of your ram is being used. ram is a cache for your pc. it stores small amounts of data about your most used programs such as operating system, games, word etc. your pc stores this data on your ram so that it can open the programs faster. that is the purpose of ram. my suggestion is upgrade your ram to 8gb. because these days 4gb is not enough.. especially for a core i5 system. if your laptop has 2 2gb sodimm modules get 2 4gb sodimm modules. or if it has one 4gb sodimm module get a second one of the same make and model.
