I already have a MacBook Pro, but I want something super lightweight that I can just pop into my purse and walk around town with. My MBP works great, it’s pretty new and I love it. Should I get an iPad? Is it worth it? Are there any other gadgets or tablets that work great that I can carry around town?

In my opinion there’s Pros & Cons to the iPad
Pro: Excellent Portable Device, Great multimedia handheld.
Con: iPad is just a supersize version of the iPhone with similar key features, also iPad keeps improving If you do purchase iPad or iPad 2 there will be iPad 3 so its your call.
If you want the Ipad for on the go your going to want the one with 3G (which cost a monthly fee) otherwise if you get just the ipad with wifi, then you can only connect to the internet through a wifi source, whether it be at home, hotel, library, or a public place that offers free wifi. With the Ipad with 3G networking then you connect to the internet like a how smartphone does.
So if you just want something to have on you at all times, maybe what you really need is a smartphone.
Probably not, if you want something like that, get an Android Tablet
1. Because they are a lot cheaper!
2. Because they are so much better than Ipads.
Your decision, that’s just my personal opinion.
If you love using your macbook pro, I’d suggest you get an iPad. iPad works pretty well with macbook pro.
