Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Nebraska)
Martin Scorsese (Hugo, Silence?)
Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives)
Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris, Nero Fiddled)
Bennett Miller (Moneyball, Foxcatcher)
Steve McQueen (Shame, 12 Years A Slave)
Lars von Trier (Melancholia, Nymphomaniac)
Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud)
BQ: Would you agree that Corey Stoll’s performance in Midnight in Paris (as Hemingway) is one of the best supporting performances of 2011?
BQ2: Have you watched Blue Valentine yet (Donny)?

What’s up man. Long time sn. What’s good in Boston
I think that Scorsese will have the best follow up. The Von Triers film is gonna be crazy probably all his movies r disturbing
Bq2-
.I saw most of it. Good movie. Very depressing though but it’s realistic how relationships are.
If Scorsese made Transformers 4, it would be the strongest follow up
but besides him, I’d go with Nicolas Winding Refn. I watched Drive again for the fourth time today. That movie does something to me lol. I downloaded the soundtrack, put it on a CD, and just drove around for a good 45 minutes. It was odd
BQ- It was a solid performance. Maybe top 20 idk
BQ2- not yet dude. I needed to rewatch a few favorites (Drive and The Darjeeling Limited) to get me back into the movie watching mood. Last night I tried watching like the first 10 minutes of three different movies that I have not seen before, and I couldn’t get into any of them. None of them were Blue Valentine, I’ll either watch it tonight or tomorrow. prob tomorrow, I’m getting tired. also, how’s Vic doing?
Interesting topic ilL say Woody and Payne
Martin Scorsese or Lars von Trier
BQ: I haven’t seen Midnight in Paris yet.
